http://www.erightsoft.com/ makes some software caller SUPER, currrently v2007.build.22 (March 14, 2007) and windows freeware...  It can convert from flv to mpg for ya... besides lots more like to mp4/3gp for free for ipods/mobiles etc... Excellent, working fine. I could do with a decent software that ripps movies of youtube/google. These are flash formats. I have Replay AV that does that, but its gone all funny and doesnt rip anymore of youtube. Any ideas? | ||||||||

If you want to rip videos off Google Video as avi, see http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2006/04/download-google-videos-as-avi-files.html basically, you have to bookmark the link on that page in Firefox, then when you are at the video.google.com page and it starts streaming, click the bookmark and it offers you the file as avi. They do usually end up being bigger files to download, but better quality too The other methods are a Mozilla plugin, called VideoDownloader from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/ but it has to call videodownloader.net every time and it sometimes times out. Other sites are http://www.erightsoft.com/KVk.html - same site that makes SUPER http://www.youtubex.com/ - one I use a lot, never fails... http://keepvid.com/ http://www.videodl.org/ I'm sure there's plenty more since i bookmarked those a while ago... I think SUPER allows you to covert on the fly as it downloads, but I've never used it, blocked it from calling home using my firewall. |
