A glass obelisk is being erected in Omagh as part of a memorial to those who died in the 1998 bombing

I'm not one of these people who sees a pyramid or obelisk or whatever and automatically assumes there must be some nefarious loomie doings going on, but I'm interested in such symbolism, so I looked into this thing

The obelisk is part of a Garden of Light and I happen to think that reference to the light and ilumination also carries some hidden occult meaning. It also has a crystal at its heart looking like this

[QUOTE=weird Omagh bomb memorial website]The spiral pattern to be used as the basis for a crystal glass layer inside the 'heart'.
This pattern has a history of use in ancient art to represent 'the descent of the Divine to the World, and the reverse journey'

The guy who has designed the garden, Sean Hillen, is also responsible for a collection of paper collages called Irelantis. Check this out

Cool

The rest of the collection is what you'd expect, Sun temples, Apollo, other deities descending from the heavens, space ships, megaliths and so-on

Now I'm not saying there's necessarily an occult agenda or meaning behind choosing obelisks and light as the themes for this garden, but it makes you wonder, especially as this stuff hasn't got anything to do with the Omagh bomb which itself is a very shady sounding thing to have happened

I'll keep my peepers on it
