We'll need to arrange promotion in the local area and do the usual technical support on the day. Funding for the printing of posters and flyers will be paid for by the host in Burnley. Any volunteers?? |

Please remember to be available on 23rd and 30th June (Both Saturdays) travel to Burnley. As discussed - 23rd June - Flyers/posters/talking to community 30th June - Visiting the venue/flyers/posters/putting our banner up on the building. etc, etc ...... All posters/flyers - should be ready by then and transport arrangments shall be organised near the time. If Zaf, Ajaib can organise leafleting on Jummah preyers on the Friday - that would be wicked! Irfan ?? ....Or even send some through the post to a contact there.???? | ||||||||

It went ok. Met Antz and Jo there. Hit local areas with leaflets etc. I shall hopefully be going there again next Saturday. I hoping that Mo will put up our Banners on the building next week. | ||||||||

Brief Note: 9/11 HERO TO VISIT BURNLEY: Friday 06th July 2007 at 8.00pm - A decorated American hero and the last survivor out of the World Trade Centre, William Rodriguez is to visit Burnley as part of his European tour. The event organised by the West Yorkshire Truth Campaign will be held at the Hu-man Community Arts Foundation, Wesleyan House, Clough Street, Burnley BB11 4BJ on Friday 6th July 2007 at 8.00pm. | ||||||||

Good turn out! Just to let you know - alot didnt turn up, they couldnt find the place (Lousy excuse, in my opinion). But there again, we should have a contact number on the poster. Seems a perfectly reasonable excuse to me. I spent about an hour in Burnley before I found it, having consulted quite a few people including a porcine cop who pulled me over for meandering driving and no seatbelt, and who turned out semi-helpful after his initial nastiness. When I found Clough Street it was a whole line of boarded houses obviously scheduled for demolition. It took quite some time to figure that the small piece of Clough Street relevant continued on the other side of the main road. I had offered to help with transport, flyering and no one wrote back to me! Whats a girl to do? There must have been a landmark near the venue that would have helped others get there. Sorry to hear about the Cop, dh! No worries evesky. You werent being ignored at all. Thanks for the offer and I hope we can make similar arrangments next time. Well, Zaf and I put A board up at the end of Clough St, with "Glowing Paper". Looked like a Council worker from a distance!  Nevermind! We still filled the seats with Bums. I managed to interview Willi/Annie and some people from the audience. I shall have this put on the radio next week, as feed back. | ||||||||
